My name is Joshua Jones, I am 27 and currently employed as the retail manager for Lens Crafters located in the St. John’s Town Center. Currently I am in my final year with the University of North Florida. I will complete my studies in public relations. I am also a part of the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville, a group I have recently joined.
My wife, Aubrey, is finishing her master’s degree with Florida State University in social work. We live in the Riverside area near downtown Jacksonville. We have two cats, Clark and Goober. We also have a dog named Zoula. This is the extent of our family at the moment.
I plan on pursuing a degree in education in the near future. Teaching is something that I have always wanted to do and I consider it a major life goal to have a career in education.
Long-term Goal: Operate a small farm to sustain my family
The nostalgia of farm work is something that I have always been drawn to. By the age of 55, I would like to have a house built on a humble amount of land. Greenhouse vegetables and small quantities of live-stock are things I have always desired to work with.
- Twenty acres of land currently goes for around $289,000 in Montana.
- Building a 1500 square foot home is roughly the same price.
- Have 20% of that amount save by the age of 40.
- Purchase land before age of 45.
- Build house by the age of 50.
- Rent out current home to pay for mortgage of the recently built house.
Short-term Goal:
Complete my degree in public relations.
- Pass Public Relations Writing with an A.
- Finally fulfill my Statistics requirement that has haunted me for quite some time.
