Demographics -
Due to UNF’s policy of having freshmen live on campus, a large portion of these students are readily within walking distance of the gardens. According to UNF’s Institutional Research, there were 14,357 undergraduates enrolled in 2014.
UNF’s Institute of research projects 4,814 new freshmen in the fall of 2015 and 2016. 33percent of the 32224 population is considered to be in the undergraduate phase of their education according the U.S. census. Bigfuture.org states that roughly 69 percent of the undergraduates at UNF is white.
According to claritis.com, 10.4 percent of the 32224 zip code fall under the poverty line, a portion of that percentage is students that have claimed independent status when applying for financial aid, according to the U.S. census and FAFSA.

Minna Mikkola who did a study with the University of Helsinki Ruralia Institute states “Young people have two words come to mind when they think of organic foods, healthy and expensive.”
Many of UNF’s student body have expressed desire to be a part of the natural activities available to them, these students are only aware of the nature trails and rope activities on campus. The undergraduates of UNF are very busy with their course work but many do have ample free time during the Ogier Gardens hours of operation.
