FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ogier Gardens will host first party of the season
University of North Florida's Ogier Gardens will be hosting their Spring Garden Party on Saturday, April 11th at 11 a.m. on campus in the garden behind the parking lot.
The Ogier Garden invites the entire campus to the Spring Garden Party for free food, music and games. The event will be showcasing some of the food grown on campus. This event is to help raise awareness to the services and volunteer opportunities available through the gardens. The Facebook page will keep students up to date on all of the newest information in regard to the event.
“I hope to use the Spring Garden party to raise awareness among students living on campus about all of the great things we plan on doing with the garden in the near future,” said Keven Andersen, who currently oversees the garden and the group of student volunteers who operate the garden.
With the party just a month away, the garden is looking for help with the event. The gardens would like to reach out to students for volunteer work, or at the very least to come hangout and see what they are all about. The website has all of the essential information on volunteering along with information on popular adopt-a-bed program.
The Ogier Gardens was established in 2009 and is currently operated by student volunteers. It relies on student fees and community donations to run day to day operations. Ogeir Gardens is striving to be a certified organic garden. Committed to raising awareness for healthy eating and organic gardening, Ogier Gardens would like to share the joy of healthy living and gardening with UNF’s student body.
